Austin Keen takes first place in the 2010 Florida Pro Am against a field of thirty eight pros from East and West Coast. Brad Domke finished second with Bill Bryant and Sammy Stinette rounding off the top four.

I would walk 500 miles..twice.

OK, well, not walking. But it will be 500 miles from Tybee Island, Georgia to Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina and 500 back again. Outer Banks Skim Jam weekend.

Staying at a classic fleabag motel on the beach, this should be a fun adventure. The first surf trip of the season.

There were many shipwrecks in the Colonial era there, locals would scavage the rum and hide it in the large sand dunes. It was said that the pirated rum was strong enough to kill the devil and a town was named.

We go seeking waves, photos and maybe even some devil killing spirits at some point.

St. Patrick's Day Rugby in Savannah

The Savannah Shamrocks hosted the 30th annual Savannah St. Patrick's Day Rugby Tournament, 2008. Teams from as close as Thunderbolt and as far away as the UK gathered to scrum, sweat, drink and enjoy some good competition. UK based team, the Willing, returned to outdo a 1-2 record in last year's tournament. That they did, winning in the final minute of the final game against the Air Force Academy to take the championship title.

King of the Hill 2008

Collins Hill High School hosts the annual King of the Hill Tournament again. Its not enough that they have to organize a tip-top tournament that serves as the de facto junior varsity state title. They show up to perform as well.

Coach Cliff Ramos led his JV team to victory in a season where the Varsity team took both regional and state titles for 2008. Click the photo to see shots of the action from the 2008 King of the Hill tournament.

It's several days of sensory overload, with hundreds of surfers, skim boarders, skaters, volleyball players and live music coming together to make an event that sears itself into your mind. Where will you be August 20-24, 2008?
